Does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to use your debit card in Luxor?
Just trying to work out the best way to take a weeks spending money (hotel booked for 15th May), foor trips and food etc:

i was n Luxor at christmassharm actually but went to luxor) there were plenty of ATM's & all the hotels seemed to have one

Loads of ATM's in Luxor - don't forget your Nationwide debit card - you get a great rate of exchange!0

Take lots of £GBPs and change over there. You'll get E£10 per GBP - much better than here (and credit card rate). Also the locals are happy to receive payments in GBP on the 10 to 1 rate. We paid for hot air balloon flights at Jolley's Travel using UK money (£42.50 each, would be £60-£75 through hotels or holiday reps for the same product).
You'll love Luxor but be prepared for the hard sell hassle in the streets!0
