Sad but true, but most newbies don't read or look at "stickies".
I wish it was otherwise, but there you go.
A thread actively posted on and bumped up regularly is ironically more likely to be noticed, read and heeded.
Forums are weird sometimes...........
I agree that newbies don't always look at stickies etc, some of them are so desperate they just want to post and get instant help and advice. I think it would be useful before you were able to post on the DFW for the first time, it automatically made you read Martins debt advice and the important info which are "stickies" and you had to tick a box saying you had read the advice by Martin and seen the SOA calculator thread etc.
I think I have bumped this up now:D0 -

Your more than likely right numpty. I would probably just tick the box if I was desperate for advice, I mean years ago I just ticked the PPI box and didn't ask any questions, naive or what? and when the representative from Standard Life came out and told me the endownment policy he flogged me would more than cover the mortgage, I believed him too:eek:

Me too, washer, so I know people don't read T&Cs and they probably don't read the stickies either. Judging by the number of views this thread gets, a lot of people read it and the nonsense we post on here - luckily, in between the nonsense comes the good stuff and that's what we try to remind people of regularly.
Welcome to the bumping gang - 2 posts now, you've qualified:D:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
