Ye gods Numpty - if there's a difficult way to do something you can be sure they'll choose it! How many forms do they need for goodness sake! As far as council tax is concerned, perhaps you ought to tell them that it will take at least 5 weeks before you can start making any payments to them, seeing as that's how long they reckon it will take to process your benefit claim! I am very angry for you, I absolutely loathe it when bureaucrats stuff things up.

I am also angry for you Numpts. One thing that I did learn when I was in the same unfortunate position as you was to ignore what the jobcentre said and sort out my own council tax and housing benefits - the jobcentre will do diddly squat.

Write a letter to your MP and enclose a letter to the Parliamentary Ombudsman (she is there to deal with government departments such as the DWP). The jobcentre need to be held in account for their f*ck ups.

Morning all. I have done something really dumb this morning - I messed around with the fancy plug in my bathroom basin, I thought the nut on the bottom was too loose so I tightened it and put the thing back in the plughole which has now sealed up and the little lever I use for opening and closing the plughole moves but doesnt release the plug:mad: Now I am completely stuffed as I cannot work out how to get the thing out so that I can release the stupid screw:o

Horace - have you a nice friendly landlord who will fix your plumbing for you? If not, then you won't be able to wash, then it will be you stinking out the place for a change instead of your neighbours....... Actually, could be a good plan for getting rid of the undesirable residents.......:D
