Well Rog..at least you have some clean cupboards now..you never know you may just have something: poole pottery, shelley, clarice, susie cooper, etc.
Indeed, H - and we do, actually, have a few very nice 'objects', including some 'Moorcroft' (and I don't mean letters from 'Moorcroft' Debt Collectors :rotfl:) early Wedgewood, Murano glass and lots of nice porcelain.
However, Mrs Rog2 doesn't want to 'sell' any of this.
I have a very good condition 'Bakelite' valve radio - which is in working condition, having been lovingly 'restored' by a local enthusiast about ten years ago. It is the same as the one featured on the latest 'Hovis' advert, except that it is not 'dented'. I know that it is worth something and would dearly like to sell it, but my wife won't let me.
I am about to 'research' its value on the internet.
I've still got that bottle of Taylors, but they don't accept that on 'Flog It'.
You never know, though.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

rog..if you want to sell the radio then sell it..mrs rog isnt going to chuck you out especially if you spend the money made on both of you. Flog It may also be a place to go to get things valued so you have an idea of what its worth.0

I deliberately drive past Moggy's - I refuse to set foot in the place. Tatco is ok but I really prefer the butcher for meat and the greengrocer for veg - so I am kind of keeping the village alive although couldnt be bothered to park on Tatco and then walk avoiding the dog poo and the sewage pipes to get to the main part of the village to visit said butcher.0 -
I'm a Sainsburys once a month person myself, with trips to Tatco, Aldi and the local Co-op in between. In my dreams though it would have to be Waitrose or, if slumming it, M & S. We have Morrisons & Asda within 5 - 10 miles but neither feature on my must-visit list. One life - your life - live it!0
-
I admit to using Lidl, Aldi (rarely), the local Co-op and Sainsbury's rarely, I only use Waitrose if they send me a voucher for free food to taste or if they send me a voucher after complaining that they haven't sent me any free food vouchers:rotfl:, occasionally will venture into M&S too. Moggy's is just horrendous - stupid place..can't park easily and they built their petrol station in a daft place so you can't really drive in or out and anyway my local BP garage is always 5p cheaper than Moggy's:j0

Thought you said you hadn't found any treasures Rog - that's not bad for starters - although if Mrs Rog won't let you sell them, that's not a lot of help. Hmmmmmm - sell Mrs Rog ??The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes
P
And another one of these - busy on this thread today, two in one day :j:j:jThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
