I'm going to bump this thread to point out that questioning DFW posters in a straightforward manner (as I have been known to do:rolleyes:) is not to be confused with trolling (which I don't do:cool:).

    Cheese, probably.

True, and then we can get a double migraine - great :confused::confused:

You're right Horace, Kraft would decimate Bournville, despite their protestations otherwise, and that would be a real crime :mad::mad: never mind what they'd do to the chocolate :mad::mad:

Back to the top of the page again now.

    Night all

    Good Morning all.

The thread referred to yesterday is even longer and more entertaining now, but getting a bit nasty in places. Obviously you can't please everyone!

Have a good day one and all!

Will try and have a look at that thread, although I, like many others - it would appear, am not about much today. :o:o

Have a great day everyone (Trolls  excepted) :hello::hello::hello:

I totally agree that questioning DFW posters, indeed questioning any poster, in a 'straightforward manner' should not be confused with 'trolling'.
However, as I am sure that you will be aware, there is, often, a very fine dividing line between what can be seen, by some, as a 'straightforward manner' and deliberate incitement.
As Martin LEWIS himself points out, many posters, particularily the new posters, often turn to both the DFW and Bankruptcy Boards when they, and their morale, is at an all time low. As such, they, understandably, can find it difficult to see the defining line between 'straightforwardness' and 'trolling', which is why he, and we, ask posters to think before answering such posters' questions, even if a 'straightforward' reply is required, and to post any reply, comment or advice in such a way that it is not, nor can it be seen as, derisory, inflammatory, offensive or otherwise designed to deprive the OP of what can be the very support and advice that they need.
I hasten to add, Andy, that your post, in this thread at least, comes under none of the categories that I have mentioned. We are not trying to turn DFW into a 'lovey dovey' forum where the word criticism does not exist. There is plenty of 'straightforwardness' on this forum, and most of us have benefited from constructive criticism, even when it is not what we expected.
We just don't need the Trolls.

    Hello everyone,
Hope everyone (except, as usual, the trolls) is well today.

That thread was definitely getting a bit nasty yesterday, no need for some of the comments tbh, oh well, guess the world's a more interesting place because we're all different :confused::confused:

    Bye for now

Good afternoon everyone. Forecast is for lots of wind and rain later so am considering kitting out the chickens in plastic macs and wellies as they insist on patrolling the garden in the filthiest of weathers and end up looking a total mess. The cat can fend for himself, he can always come in through the catflap - and being a total wuss of a puss he probably will!

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

Cold and windy, but fortunately not raining, bump.

Just found the following article, which some might find amusing:

I hasten to add - it wasn't me. :rotfl: :rotfl:
