Paying Gas and Elec Bills
Hi, Atlantic Energy are my gas and elec supplier.
I am on paper bills so i get them through my letterbox every quarter.
I always pay through there website using my debit card.
In the past i have never paid the full balance in one go and always log onto there website and pay 3 installments over a month.
I just wondered if its ok to pay like this as i cannot find anywhere on there website or on the bill that states the balance must be paid in full?
They have never written to me regarding my payment, so i take it they are happy with instalments as long as they get there cash?
Just wondered if this is ok to do?

You're paying the extra for quarterly bills so you as may as well make use of the flexibility. Most suppliers will be happy if they are paid within a month. (Although some will send off automated letters fuming and blinding after ten days.)
You are missing out on a 2.5% prompt payment discount. Not much but as you are able to pay it over a month why not bump your schedule forward one month and do so? That is, make two instalments before the next quarterly bill is due then pay the balance once the bill arrives.0
