Costco no-quibble refund policy

On Thursday I bought two TVs and a blu-ray player from Costco. If you buy there you get a five year guarantee for free and a 90 day no-quibble money back refund. (90 days is for electronics, for other goods it's lifetime refund) The smaller TV, a 22 inch LG, had a stuck-on white pixel. Yesterday I put that money back promise to the test and got a refund on the TV in two minutes with no fuss whatsoever. The replacement I bought is fine.
Having read previous posts on this and other forums about stores like Currys and Comet and their policy stuck/dead pixels I would encourage anyone considering buying a LCD TV or display to buy from Costco.

This is exactly why I like Costco so much. You don't have to argue with a sales oik in Currys/PC World etc who have a directive a avoid accepting returns. The man without a signature.0

the only problem is that not everyone has access to costco and have to make do with currys/comet etc.
but if you do have access or a friend has a card then make the most of it if you can as their customer service is great.Debt free 3 years early :j
Savings for house deposit - very healthy
Cash back earnt so far £14.570 -
"not everyone has access to costco"
because they choose not to?0 -
because you need to be a company or be in a profession that allows membership, so not everyone would qualify for membership. hence not everyone having accessDebt free 3 years early :j

They also have a free telephone technical support for your electrical purchases. Please do check the price. I have found Costco, is not always the cheapest."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

And not everywhere has a Costco store, never mind the restricted membership.0

Very good point. My Samsung LE40B650 telly was £770 inc VAT. You can get the same model for £632 from Amazon but that only includes a one year guarantee and returning a product of that size is costly. The £140 difference is well worth it IMHO.
I would suggest JL give similar quality service and although they do not price match to Costco, I find they are often cheaper for TVs. I am not sure if this Samsung LE40B550A5 @ £599 is similar to yours? > http://www.johnlewis.com/230573761/Product.aspx
I saved over a thousand on the Costco price, when I bought my Panasonic-TH-65PZ800B online"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
