How to choose a dual fuel tariff?

Im currently with EDF energy for my electricity however am soon to have a new gas supply connected and will be installing central heating etc!

I was looking at the EDG website and found it to be very confusing in regards to the different tariffs on offer. The two different bands of electricity (A/B) were hard to get my head around.

Does anyone know of a particularly good tariff to go with? One of them must be the best deal for dual fuel!

Thankyou!

There is I am afraid no 'one size fits all' answer to your question.

The cheapest supplier depends on a number of factors:

How much gas and electricity you use

    Where you live

    How you intend to pay

If you are prepared to read your meter and run your account on-line.

In some cases a dual fuel tariff will be more expensive that getting your gas and electricity from separate companies.

In general the internet tariffs are the cheapest.

Yes, of course! Unfortunately from what ive seen of them I need to enter my current supplier and usage to get anywhere (impossible at the moment as I dont have gas yet!)

I'll do some digging and see what I can come up with, cheers anyway!

Hi, average useage is about 3500 kwh electricity and 20500 kwh gas , you might not be average but it could give you some idea of what to expect.

    Hi there

For Dual Fuel Gas EDF would charge you 7.00p for Band A and 3.056p for Band B

Just so you have something to go by!
  • HI Minibbb,

Did you find an answer? I'm in the same situation - getting gas laid on soon and need a supplier and a meter but have no starting point with the price comparison sites!!

Would welcome any offers of help!
