His parents will be in trouble if they haven't declared the change in circumstances. There should be a non dependant deduction coming off their Housing Benefit.

Thanks, just as I thought. This has been going on for 7 years!!! Also the son isnt even on the electoral register. As far as they and the tax man is concerned he lives in Italy.

Seven years is a lot of benefit to pay back. Don't know where he stands, but presumably it's not good either.

my friends are going to the job centre to find out some more information i hope that it all works out and this can go ahead as i need a break as my mums getting down over how sad i seem and how much i have changed.
