I love vegas, had am amazing time there, did think its over-rated though, i dont feel the need to do it again(or for a while to be fair), there is substitute products for it.

    .....nah, not very strange!

I define strange, as comparing alton towers to six flags magic mountain...now thats just loco.

& i could say typical brit tourists not liking LA due to bias, clouded opinions etc is weird....but i wouldnt say its weird, everybody is entitled to their own opinions...im not one of these people who would call somebodys personal opinion weird or even strange now would i :D:D:D

...how funny wdyw....you put a smile on my face :D

i was there on a friday last september, at sunset you will be able to stay on rides such as goliath continously and watch the sun go down over the dessert from the top.

ok, so you've been to the west coast once and loved it......

Goliath ....yep, make sure your health insurance is well and truely up to scratch.

No need to make sure your insurance is ok, your there to have fun. Seriously though, we were told about riding goliath at sunset...its breathtaking, and then after you have caught a glimpse of an amazing sight(I took pics at the top:D) you have one of the highest drop in a rollercoaster in the world to look forward to...its brill, another one of those local bits of knowledge that the typical brit tourist misses out on. & like i said as well, with six flags you also get a small taste of the dessert road-trip that your missing out on by flying to Vegas(FYI 3days in Vegas...perfect no. of days in relation to 7 in LA). Then if you decide to do the PCH southern run that i cant stress how much i recommend doing it in your convertibile, then you will also have that road-trip california experince. Also did somebody say it wont be humid in September in Vegas......thats very crazy, its sticky and un-comfortable, dont take my word for it though, you will find out yourself...its not the best month to visit. But if your doing a copter tour and plan on being in-doors in thoe lovely dark casions then your ok, i just put up with the humidity though as there was so much i wanted to see out-doors.

I try my best . Yep, someone who spelled my username wrong ,called me a "she" (both deliberatley I presume), and claims i hate LA, despite never saying anything of the sort, will be easily amused.

I can take or leave Magic mountain, PBright thinks its fantastic. Is it the best use of a day? I would do countless other things rather than spend one of my 10 days of holiday there. PBright, wouldn't miss it for the world. Perosnally I think I might prefer the view from the top of Half Dome to the view from the top of Goliath.

Have a look at https://www.amusementsafety.org for their view.

    As for humidity

Los Angeles 83% morning 67% afternoon
Las Vegas 34% morning 17% afternoon

    LA

I stayed at Anaheim in 1988 and didn't like it, despite being right opposite Disneyland - Disneyworld is far superior. Very unfriendly part of LA too.

Santa Monica is nice but as soon as it gets dark it goes dead. Muscle beach is real hoot.

The Hyatt in central LA is great. Had a birthday there and had a great time.

I'm an Eastern USA gal myself and Georgia is fab

Driving the Pacific Coast Highway from LA (yuck) To San Fransico, via Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo (then Amtrak Business class from San Luis Obisbo - Santa Barbara) , Hearst Castle, The Big Sur, Carmel & Monteray was an absolutely outstanding motoring experience and one of the best happiest holiday experiences of my life so far.

It took away the sour taste that LA had put there !

    MTC HissyClaw.gif

We did that in a day and it is gruelling - we did it the other way round San Francisco to LA which was far worse than Frisco

    Never again!

PS MTC - love the catclaw

I recommend Yosemite - fabulous scenery and not at all busy when we went in July and Death Valley - even tho' I felt my eyeballs boil at 50c
