Disabled Driver

Can anyone help

Last week I parked in a carpark to do shopping. I was there for 2hrs 17mins. I displayed my blue badge along with the timer thought no more about it. I know they allow disabled drivers 3 hours.

Today a PCN arrived on my doorstep. I rang the company Parking Eye Ltd told them I had displayed my badge and was within the time allowed for a disabled driver. The reply I got was "well have you got a receipt then" I said no because it was above a week ago and it was for food WHO KEEPS RECEIPTS FOR FOOD the man replied "tough, no receipt, you still have to pay" he was almost laughing when he told me this.

Should I pay or not

Unless it is a council ticket ignore it. One problem is that as you have phoned them they may have your phone number to harrass you.

No. As you were parked on private land "disabled bays" don't mean anything, and it doesn't matter that you were there longer than two hours. The only way that they can get any money from you is to take you to the County Court and claim back any material losses they have suffered. As it was a free car-park they lost nothing and it is against the law for them to impose a "penalty" that bears no relation to their true "loss".

Just ignore any further correspondence from them, and they will eventually lose interest as they know in their hearts (if they have on) that they haven't a leg to stand on.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • thanks for the quick replies. Makes me feel a little more confident.....let them do their worst.
