We are being pestered with these overseas call centres, I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop them as we get about a dozen calls every day, they come up in the caller display as International.

if your a BT customer you can register for the BT Privacy service see https://www.bt.com/btprivacy This includes free caller display and registration to the TPS (telephone prefrence scheme). By registring for TPS it will stop UK registered companies from cold calling. If your not a BT customer you can still register for TPS at https://www.tpsonline.org.ukThe views expressed on this website, be they in text, pictures or sound, are my own personal views. If you have been troubled by calls where the phone rings but on answering there is no one there, you may wish to register your number on the Silent Callgard Service on 0870 4443969.
These calls are generated by automatic dialling equipment which dial more numbers than there are operators available to take the calls. The views expressed on this website, be they in text, pictures or sound, are my own personal views. Not those of my employer, its staff or colleagues.0 -

I used to get one or two such calls per day, international or otherwise. In the end I signed up with TPS and now I haven't had a call for about three weeks.
It used to be impossible to stop the overseas calls, but I think that companies now realise they are not doing themselves any favours by pestering TPS people so they are probably obeying this restriction from all their call centres. And about time too!Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
We signed up to TPS, it stopped all the unwanted calls from this country but not the international ones.
As we have caller display we let the international ones go on to the answer phone, They will ring two or three times a day for a few days and then nothing for a week or two.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
bearing in mind that most of the companies calling from overseas are UK registered so they also have to obide by the TPS rulesThe views expressed on this website, be they in text, pictures or sound, are my own personal views. Not those of my employer, its staff or colleagues.0
