Windows Remote Connection

Have recently downloaded above program viaMS website as I want to access my pc via my laptop. The host is running Windows XP and the laptop (client) is running windows 2000, hence the reason for having to download RDC on the laptop. The strange this is that I can't find the program in accessories-communication or in the list of programs anywhere, but it is showing in control panel under add or remove programs, i've deleted and reinstalled many times alas to no avail. I've also checked under the search option and still cannot find it. Can anyone tell me how I can find the program icon any other way please. This program was running fine until I had to completely reinstall my windows 2000 operating system because a repair after BSOD would not work

Go into "My computer", then your hard drive (normally C:)

Then look for the "Program files" folder and go into that. Scour the many folders that appear for the one Remote Connection will be hiding in. Inside that folder (still with me? ;)) you should find a file that starts the program. Normally it'll have the program's name and its icon. Right click on the icon, and choose Send to -> Desktop "create shortcut".

This'll put a shortcut to it on your desktop. You can either leave it as that, or drag the shortcut into the start menu.

I hope that helps, or even makes sense.

Yep, that makes sense. I'll take a look tomorrow. I'm not at home at the moment. Thanks

    Correct!

Don't forget to work through the options - particularly the Local Resources tab and click on the More button, if you want to be able to see your own C: drive while accessing the remote desktop. Easily missed.
