Smoking Dimension 4550 Power Adaptor

Can anyone suggest where I can buy a replacement power lead for a Dell Dimension 4550 PC? The one I have at the moment is smoking from the adaptor box (I know, what a disgusting habit!)
I have tried a Google search but nothing comes up. Is it because the power lead is standard and not a specific power cable for the 4550?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Cheers.

usually a kettle lead, which are standard. more importantly, why is it smoking, that needs addressing first before the house goes up in flames.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

So, the PC doesn't actually need the power to be adapted/changed? It is the box that started to smoke.0

not if it has a kettle lead, sounds like a faulty power supply inside the PC, I'd make sure it is unplugged at the wall before you goto bedEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

How old is the machine? You might have collected a load of dust in the air intake for the fan - worth a clean with a vacuum cleaner to see if that was your problem.0
