Halifax credit card charges
chequeout
Hi all
I've requested all default charges be refunded to my Halifax CC which total £619.
Halifax have written back to me offering to refund £355 "as a gesture of goodwill" - this amount is the difference between the fees of £20 and £25 and the new level of £12.
Does anyone know how easy the Halifax are at being likely to back down and pay the full amount of £619 either because of a 2nd letter to them or going to the FOS?
I've recently taken Capital One to the FOS and they caved in and paid up in full the full fees. However, are the Halifax liable to put up more of a fight? Should I just go for it and try for the full amount? Or shall I accept their offer of £355? If anyone has any experience of dealing with the Halifax, I would really appreciate your feedback as am not sure how likely they are to put up a fight...
I'm still very overdrawn on my Halifax credit card - as much as possible would be great to help me get back on an even keel.
Thanks in advance for your help everyone x:Tr

True..... I just seem to get the impression Halifax might be trickier for some reason - I may well be wrong, it's just a thought I seem to have got stuck in my mind.
Also - £355 is quite a substantial amount to be honest (whereas Capital One's initial offer was a joke, so I felt more fired up with them to pursue them in the first place).
Aaaagh, I can't decide. But - I'm inclined to go for it - as when I think of the stress the Halifax have caused me from whacking all these charges on, it makes me MAD!
Thanks for your advice tho.Pounds, shillings and pence; I caught a dirty wench, I gave a cough, her leg fell off, pounds shillings and pence :rotfl:

Be confident in your own ability to do the claim. You succeeded the first time when perhaps you didn't think you would so take heart from that fact that you won once and the situation has not changed on credit cards. If there are any pitfalls then post up on here and we can all help you. Ok?Soz - by inclined to go for it, I mean go for the full amount of £619.0
