    • Final - Monday 1st March 2010

For each Competition Round points will be earned based on the scoring system below. The final score of the match is determined by the score after 90 minutes.
    Scoring System:
    • Correct Result - Home win / Away win / Draw - 2 points
    • Correct Score - 4 points
    • Joker Prediction - 5 point bonus

In each round of the Carling Cup up to and including the 5th Round, a player will be able to assign a Joker to two of their predictions. A Joker prediction will receive a five (5) point bonus if it achieves a correct score, and will be added to the standard four (4) points achieved for predicting a correct score. The Jokers are mandatory - if you don't use both of them in each round up to and including the 5th Round, your predictions will be invalid.

If a player selects forecasts for only part of the competition, the player will only receive points based on the results of selected games.

In the event of a Carling Cup fixture being postponed or abandoned, the predictions for that result will be void unless sufficient time had been played in an abandoned fixture for it to be deemed an official result by the Football League. For postponed fixtures and abandoned matches without an official score, the re-arranged fixture will be used to judge predictions.

In the event of a tie (i.e. if more than one Carling Cup Predictor player has the highest number of points), the winner will be selected by a random prize draw made the day following the closure of the round.

All scores will be reset to zero after the semi-final stage (round six) has been completed. The Carling Cup Predictor will then continue for the Carling Cup Final (round 8). The winner of round 8 will win a replica team shirt signed by the Carling Cup winning squad 2009/10.

If the winner does not respond after 7 days of being notified, the promoter may dispose of the prize as it thinks fit without any liability to the winner(s) for having done so.

If any circumstances out of the promoter's control mean that the prize advertised is not available, the promoter will provide a prize of equivalent value.

The promoters' decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Entries must be received via the Carling Cup Predictor Challenge registration form. Entries via third parties will not be accepted.

The promoter reserves the right to refuse entries which are multiple entries from the same IP address.

The promoter reserves the right to refuse entries which are incomplete or do not meet the rules.
