In User Accounts I have listed under user profiles ...
Name / Size / Type / Status/ Modified
Account unknown / 1.57mb/ local / local / 03/03/2006
My PC\Administrator/ 753 kb / local / local / 21/09/2005
My PC\Snax / 705mb / local / local / 30/04/2006
I am now the only user on this PC [there was 1 other a while ago - but now deleted]
The guest account is turned OFF.
Is this normal and is it safe to delete any?

Which account do you use?
Keep the administrators account!!!0 -
If I click start, I am given the Log off Snax... option - so I would presume that I am using the 3rd user profile.
I always assumed I was Administrator
What is Account unknown and why is it bigger than the other 2?

You can delete users in a few ways. In control panel -> User accounts.
Have a look in there and if there is only your user name there, thats OK. if not, delete the other, not Administrator though.
Now go into the option you had up before (user profiles), you can now delete the "profile" that is there for the unknown user.
The reason I say "profile" is because at one point (as you describe) there was another user, each user has their own profile, there are stored in - My Computer - C - Documents and Settings, you will then find the folders of all the users that have logged onto that machine. A profile is not a user, it contains all the personalised files for that user.
Once you delete the unknown user, leave the admin and yours there.
You may well be AN administrator, just not THE (built in) computer administrator. This is a good thing!!! and nothing to worry about. It basically means that if anything goes wrong with your account and you are unable to log in, you still have the default admin account.
Hope that helps

The account unknown is only a small one. It's only twice the size of the administrators account, if you compare it to your account it's a mini egg and yours is an easter egg (450 times smaller than yours).0 -
