Dinner Party Conversation

LOL, I was going for a bit of deadpan but obviously it didn't quite come off

It did with me, I thought it was funny.
"I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -
We go to dinner parties - must be getting old. Generally unless you're driving I've found them a nice relaxing place to get slightly sozzled among a few friends. - Good food, good conversation, good wine and often a tour of Scotland as the evening wears on - gets through OH's malt collection quickly though.
I can't, in all the years we've been hosting or attending them remember house prices ever been discussed - in over 20 years.
Somone, might mention they are selling their house, or are buying somewhere. we have friends who moved to Portugal a couple of years ago - we wondered what they got for the house - but we never asked - you just don't. It's like asking someone what they earn.
Other friends relocated to Devon about 18 months ago - 2 lots actually, but we never discussed house prices. Either buying or selling prices. Just the properties they were looking at and eventually bought.
What sort of pretentious pill*cks discuss house prices at dinner parties - or anywhere for that matter, except in the estate agents or on here - life's too short.0 -

I've got a fair idea but I'm not sure I know the full story, and besides, I don't think there's much to be gained by engaging in a witch-hunt. Martin covered the generalities of it in Mewbies 'Site Feedback' thread, and to be honest the Abuse team wouldn't have PPR'd him for nothing.0 -
Yeah.. thanks for that. I had to go round to Martin's house and apologise.I've only ever done the 'Abuse' thing once and that was completely warranted - one well known poster on here decided to PM me to tell me to go forth and multiply (nice!) so that got forwarded to the abuse team.
All a bit silly really.

I would like to know also, I did respond to mewbies post earlier today so I presume he knows I reported some of his and why.
But I have no idea why any one would report AD and why.
Ad got a bit stressed the other week, what with the recent rises and stuff, and was acting a bit out of character, but I never saw anything that would warrant a total ban. Christ, some people get away with much worse.0 -
I used to go round to friends for tea, you know the take a bottle and order in a chinese which we all eat sat on the floor whilst drinking copious amounts and telling rude stories.....does that count?
Whole hog dinner parties with nice plates and the use of the table whilst getting drunk has never been my scene although I once did an anniversary dinner for my parents. I got drunk, they got drunk, I went to the pub after and came home to hubby having a massive hypo and ending up in hospital.
Lovely evening. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I expect they were particularly offensive.. more so than usual. There is a poster on here, who I dislike intensely, and who I suspect is behind the ad thing. I am sure he uses a number of aliases, and I was lashing out at all and sundry in the hope of scoring the occasional hit.To clear the air, You do realize why i reported some of your posts don't you?
I am not one for making enemy's on here but I am not one for taking digs for no reason either.
If you are not he then I apologise. If you are he then I hate you. Problem is, that it is sometimes difficult to tell one from another.0
