Viewing tv on laptop?

Hi there, I would like to use my laptop to view freeview tv while travelling. How can I do this? I have an Advent 9515.

Thanks,

Fortyfoot

you can get a DTV stick that plugs into usb, look for one that can get dual channel and then you can watch one channel and record another.

As culpepper says, but be warned - if you aren't going to be staying in larger urban areas you won't pick up any channels with the aerial that the DVB sticks are usually supplied with.

I used a good quality Hauppauge DVB receiver plus an outdoor compact amplified aerial while I was away in Scotland last year, and never picked up a single channel!

Things will get better after the digital switch-over, but I doubt you'll ever get good coverage in remote places.

Thanks for the replies. I will be in my touring caravan and can use a large outdoor aerial. Digital available at Ayr a couple of weeks ago.

My digital tv uses up the battery quickly and I am hoping that using the laptop will save on power consumption.
