    You don't need to display R plates if you have passed in Scotland.

    I did have a bit of hassle getting my license...I can't really remember the whole process but it took a bit longer for them to sort it out. My instructor sent my provisional off with the test certificate and it was sent back to me, then I changed my details to my Scottish address at the time, and it went through with no problems. I then changed my address back to the Northern Irish one pretty much straight away as this was my permanent address rather than my term time one. I wasn't informed of any restrictions.

    It makes sense really, the test outside of NI involves travelling at the speed limit on a dual carriageway so it would be silly for them not to allow you to do this after you have passed!
