CSA & Data Protection

Has anyone tried to obtain their info from CSA under Data Protection Act. I am about to write to them, partly because I am curious as to how much info they have and also to ensure I am not paying too much.

Thanks

Don't expect miracles - I got my paperwork, half of it was missing and it didn't answer many questions, just created more !

Are you on CSA1 or CSA2? If its CSA 2 its very simple to work out how much you should be paying. If you are on CSA1 then if you want to know if you are paying the right amount NACSA would be your best bet I think (don't quote as i'm not sure) that they offer a service where they can check your assessment for a small fee.

I have managed to get my MP onto my case, he is sending for mine , Iv had a letter off the csa saying i have to recieve them within 40 days reading this i don't know what to expect, but i have to do somthing i can't go on as i am doing
  • Best thing, I ever done.

Got my Data protection records back In march, got a good lawyer on the case and not heard anything from there department for 6 months.

They may come back to it one day, but files show it has been suspendid, no contact made towards me since 1997, totally wrong information. It shows some attempts of written correspondance 1997/98, but nothing since. Okay, I found out they have a Liability order against me, but its not worth the paper its written on, no assessment was ever made.!!

Baliffs threat stopped back in February and they have not even contacted my previous employees to clarify my detailed information that I wrote to them.

Gives me the impression, if it went to court they couldn't possibly win and thats why they are taking a back seat and not pursuing any more. They have wrong address details, no DEO and my DOB wrong.

My daughter is 24 this year.

Gone through the history of my case on here last year.

I have no problem with saying I paid her directly and have proof of that. My ex was on beneifts, happy to take the money and not informing the CSA.

I have been self employed for years and never even knew they were trying to contact me until a letter of arrears appear last Summer!! Total maladministration on there part, IMA in place apparantly from 1996. The weekly figure around £110 on the IMA is laughable on a wage in 1996 of around £200 per week, to which they have all the details.

I'm not paying the mainteance again and if it goes to ICE or court, they have no evidence, only that it took them 10 years to write one letter. From the data protection files it shows outstansing 4,000 arrears and £39,000 suspendid. (but thats all based on a IMA, not correct assessment). Don't believe all this "they only go for an IMA" when a PWC is proving hard to trace !! It was very easy then and no more difficult than sending a letter out 10 years later.

The Data Protection files also a have a rep from CSA stating "its likely the NRP, knows nothing about the IMA". Those kind of comments will go down well, if they pursue further down the line
