Packing boxes

At the moment we're just waiting on one reference to go through for a property we like so our thoughts are turning to how to move things.....

I have some boxes left from a pack I bought when I moved my stuff into self storage a year and a bit ago but we need more, our local supermarkets don't seem to have boxes and therefore we are looking at buying another boxes pack from a company online..

Thing is there are so many of them and I would prefer to buy from one which is recommended has anyone any suggestions?

I have already looked on freecycle for boxes but no luck... :(

Lidl have good, big fruit boxes with handles and lids. They stack perfectly.
The apple ones (from memory) are exceptionally strong and free!

    Hi,

    Try eBay.
I recently bought over 60 boxes for £3.
They were used, but were proper removal boxes.
If you search on eBay by postcode, you can find the nearby ones that can be collected.

    Thanks guys...

Will have to find our local Lidl are they the ones with holes in the bottom though like banana boxes?

As for ebay nearest boxes are 60 odd miles away so collection would be out of the question so might look at what postage costs people are charging....

We bought some boxes on ebay from this seller (who I have no connection with): http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/mooveitboxesandpackaging. Delivery was very quick and had no problems with them.

Although they were the chapest we could find at the time (late last year) it still cost a fair bit - for our house we needed two of the large packs they do which came to something like £70.

Try searching online or Yellow Pages for packaging companies. You should find several locally to compare prices.

Neh ask around friends and family for anyone who works anywhere such as a factory or warehouse or retail outlet. Anywhere like that has boxes which deliveries have arrived in and they may be able to get you a load for free.

My nearest family is 330 miles away so that's not an option and out of all the people we know no-one works in a warehouse or retail....

Will have a look at those ones on ebay..

If you using a removal company, they will often give you some free or you can buy used ones cheaply from them. These will be thick, strong removal boxes, better than grocery type boxes.
