I can have a look at the weekend, all I remember is it was a milky blue colour, fairly thin liquid and was relatively expensive.0 -
Sounds like Bal Sealant to me, used it on my own WR plasterboard when I did my bathroom, nothings fallen off yet0

Hardibacker will take approx 45kg per sqm, Compared to plasterboard that can take 32kg per sqm
Plasterboard can hold up to 32kg/sm when screwed to a wood/aluminium frame.
When it's dot and dabbed with plaster that redusecs the load carrying capabilities to the adhesive bond of plaster which is 20 kg/sm therefore not suitable for travertine.0 -
12mm Travertine is a floor tile and should not be used on walls unless a suitable substrate is used (tile backer board i.e. hardibacker or aquapanel).
Fundamentally we get 12mm thick product as this is produced for America at a thickness of a half inch (their standard for a floor tile requirement) so it's designed for USA spec. It's not cost effective to produce 8mm - 10 mm for the UK market which is relatively small, so we get a stone that's over thick for our uses.0
