Choose when you pay charges

I assumed that I had no control over when charges were taken off my account but it would appear it happens a set time after your statement date ... I discovered this morning that I can choose my statement date and therefore the date my charges come off !!! ... Now I have decided any charges I incur will be taken from my account just after my pay day so the bank won't be able to tip me over my limit hours before there are funds available to cover them ... Hoorah !!!

It takes two months usually for that to kick in, because you are usually within the charging period when you change the date and the previous charging period's charges may already be in the system to go out. I do think that it is a good piece of advice re the statement date.
