I used to have one of those specialist soya milk makers. It was a real potch and not easy to run and clean. I got rid of it and went off soya anyway as it started to upset my tum and I also hated the fact that there was so much gmo soya about that some was bound to be in the `organic` seeds. I would definitely not have bought that machine if I could turn the clock back, even if I used soya milk on a day to day basis

I do however make nut milks and now hemp milk, which we use daily. They are so easy and just need a good liquidiser and a nut milk straining bag. For hemp milk we use hulled seeds and don`t strain. I just bought a vitamix, which whizzes creamy milk in 30 seconds

    my machine was the soyquick

Hmm, did that have an exposed heating element kittie? I've heard those are ones to avoid because they are hard to clean x
  • You may have had an early version of that one Kittie? We've had ours 4 or more years and it's a doddle to clean. It's saved us a fortune over the years.

  • Hi folks, does anyone have any tips on cleaning dried-on gunk from the milk filter?! I bought a Soyabella milk maker, followed the instructions which said to let the filter cool down til it could be handled, but now I'm left with clogged up holes. I've tried scrubbing it with really hot soapy water, but that doesn't shift the gunk. Any ideas? :(

Time to resurrect this thread. I now make soyamilk on a frequent basis, organic unsweetened and non gmo soyamilk which is lovely and creamy. It costs £1.80 a litre in waitrose and 18p to make

I bought myself a soyabella some time back and used it for nutmilk, until I decided to try soyamilk. I was tentative, having used a soyquick many years ago. Soyabella is wonderful and very very easy to clean

Just a cup, provided and is 3 oz) of beans, soaked all night. Into soyabella with 1 litre of water (I used filtered ) and press a button, 15 minutes later it was made. Poured it into a jug to cool and decanted into a pretty capped glass bottle for the fridge. Soyabella too just a few minutes to clean, no burning, nothing much at all

No contest for me now, 18p v £1.80

madcollies, it is no different to my old green life juicer. The screen must be kept wet. I just empty it and then soak in water as soon as I take the top off. I rinse it then wipe out and in and look at daylight through the screen, any slightly clogged holes get clear by using the blue provided brush. Trick is to keep it wet
