The way I see it track cars and the like that are striped down to an extent that they couldn't pass an MoT can be transported on a trailer so it should be okay to store a donor car on a trailer in the street.
No, it would not be ok. It is illegal to leave an unhitched trailer on the street (includes caravans). If it is hitched, fair enough but your clutch is going to wear down fast and you'll use a lot of petrol taking your trailer with you everywhere you go.0 -

its just sometimes selfish people and their selfish relatives park their cars/vans with no tax and leave them there for a long time and it causes parking problem!
its nice and quiet close off the main street so a police officer will not be able to see them
Initially I would call the council as if they have no tax they can be removed legally within 24 hours (I think), if they are taxed the council has to trace the owner and find out why their car is not moving.
If the council doesn't do something, then phone the police.0 -
Does anyone know how much leeway you have between the start of the month when you are supposed to get a new road licence and when they actually chase you? My son's abroad and dithering as to whether to renew or for me to get him to sign and post the SORN declaration.0

None. You are obliged to continuously tax a vehicle. However, the DVLA may not take any action if you tax it within 14 days of the previous disc expiring. (It says so somewhere on their website but I can't find it right now and I am at work so can't spend time on it).
They won't chase him. They will simply issue him with a fine.0
