So that is why you were up so late?

Have a read of this support thread for people on here with gambling issues

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1090463

There are quite a lot of folk workign their way out of the same problem.

If you get even the least bit tempted over the weekend, come on here and one of them will probably be arround.

Can you get your self barred?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Why else did you think I was up so late? I wasn't on drugs, I despise them. I dont even smoke anymore either (not that I could afford to right now if I wanted to)

Proud to be dealing with my debts

  • Can I ask what type of gambling is it? Is it online? Can you cancel all of the accounts?

Now you've had your lightbulb moment you will find it gets easier as you admit there is a problem and get help for it, the debt will take time to pay off but you will find the stress of it will be less if you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have had a hard week this week, I feel like I've hit rock bottom, my debt isn't gambling/drink/drugs related, and we don't have flashy holidays and brand new sports car, its just from living, but obviously living beyond our means - and regardless of what it has been spent on we are all in debt, after having some massive panic moments earlier in the week I have sat and worked a budget out for the next few months and the relief is immense, I can't pay any more than I am so I have had to accept that I am doing my best, my kids understand things will be tight for a while and that xmas will be a bit more pants than usual, but I need to get this debt sorted ASAP before I end up in the loony bin..........

    Best wishes, take care xx

  • If you did do something to harm yourself your parents would'nt be able to live with themselves.
They would think over and over again " why did'nt he turn to us for help " ?. I could'nt live with myself if i knew my son was in trouble and did'nt turn to me,even if i didn't have money i could help in other ways.Turn to them !
  • Theres a thread on here for gamblers somewhere !

Glad you had your lightbulb moment and have sought help. That will be a big weight lifted and you can make progress form now on. My husband and I are both in our late 20's and had our lightbulb moment with our debt a few months back and are desperately working to clear it as soon as we can. We all make mistakes for whatever reason - we let our hearts rule our head and got married and move countries all on credit so we could be together and bring up our son together.

The good thing is you realised and have taken action!

How are you doing now? Please don't hurt yourself over debt, I took an overdose because of it, and it really doesn't help, all it does is make things worse.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • Managed to get myself a job this week. So things are perhaps gonna get a bit better
