Didn't see a thread for this yesterday or today - forgive me if I have duplicated.
Yesterday I drove to a birthday meal to save on drinks & taxi fare
I made my friend a birthday present
I did some spending (that I had to do) via QuidCo & did some searches to make a few pennies oh and signed up with Snapfish to get some digital photos printed - they will give me £3.50 for that (apparantly) - thanks again lynzpower!
Today I have:
Sold a cd via Amazon - yay! :j
Have hung two loads of washing on the line to dry (have heard it's going to rain all day tomorrow)
Used up some bread left in freezer to make a toasted sandwich for lunch - you know, the two crusts that are always left that people throw out? NOT ANYMORE in this house
I told OH to freeze them and I would use them one day soon for lunch...and today was the day. Jolly nice it was too.
Have planned menu for the coming weeks meals
Am going grocery shopping later in day to see if there are any bargains to be had - especially in the bread section.
OK that's it for now, will update later if there is anything else.
Good luck every one for some DFW stuff today/tomorrow.

I have been up colombia rd flower market this morning "investing" in my garden
Terracotta pots £6 each, OH bargained down to 15 for three. Not strictly me doing it, but my influence
OH & mate in pub now for a quick pint, im going to leave them to it saving myself 3.00 for a beer
Last night we went to china town for a bite to eat and we usually completely overbuy food with loads more than we can eat, so we all shared a 1/2 duck , shared a starter between couples and me & OH bought a main & plain rice between us. We didnt even finish that, with beers came to about £20 ( including compulsory tip ) which is SO MUCH less than we usually spend. Chuffed with that.
Was going to go buy a while loaf for bacon & suasage sandwiches this am, but stuck with the brown, I didnt like it muhc on brown, but it did save me a quid! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi
Bought some tools for the new allotment from 99p shop (v good quality-honestly)
Dried all the washing on the line - not that i have a tumble dryer but it saves a trip to the laundrette.
PLanted out my herb garden.
Cooking peaches for tea & maybe some fairy cakes for lunch boxes next week.
Cut the grass ( not sure it DFW but it was bloomin' hard work so I want someone to know!)
Have a nice evening all

Haven't even left the house to be tempted to spend any money today! Cleared out my wardrobe a bit and have put a few things on ebay so fingers crossed!
Also gave in and took charity from my BF's parents - they came to visit yesterday and asked us if we needed any food. Named a few essentials and they came round with almost a monthly shop! So I have saved about £120+ on groceries by accepting a bit of help. Hoorah for parents.

I took some 3 yogurts back to Sainsbury because although in date were a bit 'funny.' Got given a £10 voucher and the £1.09 for the yogurts. So enabled me to get a basketful of 'FREE' shopping!0

Wow janthemum and Quincifer. I'm very impressed.
I was officially starting the May Grocery challenge erm in May obviously. We did a week's worth of shopping yesterday for £26.50. I was going to not count this in the budget for May because it was paid for in April.... even though all the food will be eaten in May. It was about as moneysaving as I could manage!

I wondered where this thread was yesterday, I missed it!
Yesterday, I stocked up on lots of fruit and veg at the local market, so much cheaper than supermarket, had 2 large bags for just under a fiver! :T ( and got a lovely £2 coin in my change too!)
Also changed my holiday money, shopped around and got a much better deal than travel agent was offering.
Today, I have popped to asda to do the reduced item hunt and had bubble and squeek from left overs from yesterday! Yum!£2.00 Coin Savers Club - £72.00 :j :j

I'm already debt free but I'm saving frantically for a holiday so I feel like I need to get every penny.
This weekend I sorted out a load of DVDs I never watch anymore and sold those on ebay for £75.
Took the kids out on a walk yesterday so we bought chips which only cost £2.25 and then just had a sandwich for tea.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
I made black-saturn's fruit cobbler for after tea yesterday. Thank you for that, the LO helped me make it. :T0

I decided to try to grow some veggies (in containers on the patio) so planted some courgettes and peppers, which I got from a website recommended on MSE a while ago. Got 70 free petunia plants with the order! So planted those as well. Today I went shopping and bought myself an MP3 player which I've been wanting for ages. Managed to get £10 off the one I wanted from Dixons closing down sale, listening to it now, it's fab!Total debt May 2005 £83,232
