btw sparks can get things wrong:

Just got the inspection report for MiL's old house prior to letting. Couple of small things (eg fuse box not labelled with which breaker related to what circuit..) and a note of a failed socket in the bedroom....

We were confused, couldn't see any broken, weren't aware of any faults... then remembered that there was a "fake" double socket that was actually a small safe: Sparks must have stuck his tester in the dummy sockets and wondered why no juice!!

I'm sure your mate was right though...
