What is classed as Hardship?

I am curious about this, I know there are threads here and there on here about hardship etc, but never had time to look through those threads thoroughly, so thought I would post a thread on here myself direct, could you please tell me what is classed as hardship?

My guess is that of Unemployed
Mortgage arrears
Difficulties in making ends meet etc etc.....

Is there anything else?

Cheers.;)

  • A lifestyle event, ie loss of job causes a lowering in income which means that essential outgoings are missed(priority debts) and the charges themselves then impact on the budgetting for the next month leading to a cycle of charges which means that you build up arrears and it can lead at times to people not buying sufficient food to live on.
That kinda thing albeit there are posters who get payout where even I have no idea.

FSA definition within the waiver "insufficient income to meet essential outgoing where they become due,"
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Even that useless chairman of the FSA Lord Haw-Haw ( i mean Lord Turner ) can't even enforce his own bl*ody waiver.

Read an article about him today in the Daily Torygraph; smug fa*e gi*. How on earth does he have the nerve to complain about bankers bonuses, when he earns £647,000 a year! £53,000 per month. Kettle calling the pot black?

Jos, I hear a lot of hot air and not much else from people.
Complaints about the FSA waiver since August 2008 to July 2009 was exactly 18.
So, have you seen more than 18 posters where you thought that the firm were breaching the FSA Waiver?
In the months January to March 2009 when the whole OFT test case was ongoing and one forum was asking for the waiver to be ended there was exactly 0 complaints about the FSA Waiver. That is quite frankly shocking and if people do not complain then why do you think the Waiver is not changing?

Possibly people do not know you can complain, where to send complaints, and who to, i know i for one did not have a clue to you told me i could complain, its not exactly written on the front page of the MSE website or on the bank letters they send out.

There are plenty who could complain i would guess.
    Owed out = lots.

I have to say that nor did I either until I spoke with a friend and former protector of me whilst I was in the bank(amethyst on LB and esmerellda on here) after doing a freedom of information request to the FSA. Yesterday I asked MSE Wendy to have a look at this issue as well because there was a very clear breach of the FSA Waiver on the forum and the poster had something in writing which was perfect.
I'm still chatting with MSE Wendy on the topic but the figures were really quite shocking to comprehend.
I don't think we should criticise this site unnecessarily. If I hadn't wondered onto this site in 2006 I wouldn't have got involved albeit not registering here until much later. The situation is an emerging one and the more you read, the more you understand the mindsets and how things work.
