Can anyone identify this thing??

Can anyone identify this odd creature about to become slug fodder. It was in my sisters garden tonight, looks like a scallop to me but didn't think they were known to be wild in Hampstead (and apparently it was pulsating)...fhstg http://twitpic.com/fhstg (hope the link works)

  • Hi,

is it a glass eye? :rotfl:
  • Looks like the end bit you suck on,on a stick of seaside rock.
    Slugs like sweet things too.:D
  • Yes but seaside rock doesn't pulsate!! Nor do glass eyes and boiled sweets but I can see the resemblance! I'm sure I saw something like this in the rock pools on the Lizard this summer - perhaps it was dropped by a passing seagull?!

Could well have been dropped by a bird - it certainly looks like it came out of a rock pool!
Whatever it is, I don't like it!
