Help anyone know anything about cookers????

Hi we have a whirlpool integrated fan assisted cooker that came with our kitchen in our house when we bought it from new so its just over 4years old.
It has recently started turning itself off and not staying on after you have switched it on, we have found that sometimes when you use the buttons (of which there are only 3, 2 which push out and you turn to select which function on one and the other you use to select temp or time on display) it will switch off but if you touch them or hit the surface around them it starts again, although this is not a guaranteed way of it staying on.
So.......does anyone know if this could just be a case of taking front off and replacing switch or something more.
Like many on here money is tight and we have never called anyone out for this type of thing, any suggestions welcome......:o

It sounds like a loose wire/connection somewhere on the component board. The easiest way to fix would be to replace the entire board. You should be able to get a replacement from Whirlpool and either fix it yourself (if you know what you're doing) or get an engineer to sort it...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
