When I bought my laptop it had what i presume was a trial version of excel/office each time I tried to use it a box appeared asking for a product code and saying I could only use it a certain amount of times. I've used it up now. I didn't really use it much it took 18 mths to use the 25 times it let me use it. Problem is now I really need to use tonight and can't . It lets me open files but I can't do anything . Help please
:(

You could try the protable version of AbiWord. It's a lightweigh word processor but it will download quickly. It will open word doucments. It's not as full features as Open Office or MS Office though.0

The title of the thread suggests that the OP is seeking a substitute for Excel.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Go to Google Docs at http://docs.google.com sign in if you have a Gmail account or create one. You can upload Excel documents, edit them online and then Export to your hard disk.0

Thanks for that . Managed to finally get sorted :j0

OpenOffice is a FINE program, Glad you got it sorted!
It does take longer to open initially than excel but for the price and functionality you get, it's worth the brief wait!0 -
Try downloading a different trial version. I thought I was just downloading an MS Access trial version but it ending up re-activating the rest of the Office trial which had previously expired on my laptop.0

If your just looking to open them (not edit them), you can use Excel Viewer - its free from Microsoft site.
You cannot do anything except view them and print them, but it might be better than nothing at all?
