Train virgin
I have not travelled on a train for many many years but need to go to London on Sunday 6 September for an event.
Which is the best place to look for tickets?
I will be going from Warrington and need to get to London Euston. Early morning train as the show starts around 10 am (but could be a little later) and finishes at 6 pm. A direct train would be wonderful and it is for my husband and myself and we need return tickets.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be greatful. It is all baffling.
Thanks in advance.

Alison i think you might struggle to get to London for 10:00 in the morning by train, have you thought about going the night before and staying over night?Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0

Hi Alison,
Just done a search for you on National Rail. Unfortunately the earliest train won't get you in till lunchtime. If you want to go by train you'll have to go the day before.
Usually there are direct trains to London Euston from Warrington Bank Quay on Virgin which take about 2 hours. However none on the Sunday morning!!0 -
I would dearly love to do that but with 2 teenage boys and a night alone I would hate to see the state of my house on my return.0

Another option is to go by Megabus, however, you need to leave at 04:30 in the morning and get a lift into Manchester. It takes you out of your way but the total fare is £26 return for the both of you.
04:30 Depart Manchester, Shudehill Interchange
Arrive London, Victoria Coach Station 08:30 2 seats = £10.00
18:30 Depart London, Victoria Coach Station
Arrive Manchester, Shudehill Interchange 22:55 2 seats = £16.00Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
It will probably be easier to drive down to London. Didn't realise that booking train tickets could be that complicated. :embarasse0

have a look at
thetrainline.com
Shame its a Sunday Service0 -
By all means find your train information thru thetrainline.com but don't buy your tickets thru them as they charge your extra money via booking fees
Use a Train Operating Companies Website ie;
Virgin Trains

Its not the trains that are complicated, its just the fact that your trying to travel on a Sunday morning and the first direct train is 09:22 arriving at 12:04. The earliest I could get you there by train (starting from Manchester or Crewe) is 10:58Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Can you tell I haven't been a train since the 80's. :rotfl:0
