Looking at laptops and what's the difference?!
There seems to be no website that puts processors in order of spec-is a core 2 solo better than dual core?
Where do Athlons fit with Intel speeds?
my head is hurting!

Here's a good place to compare

Core 2 Duo are the latest technology but more recent Dual Core will be better than older Core 2 Duo. Dual Core are cheaper generally. Most AMD laptop processors are Turions though they use the name Athlon sometimes. It seems the fastest AMD laptop processors are not as fast as the fastest Intel processors but will be as good as many options. Of course it's really much more complex than that.0 -

Fab. Just the sort of basic explanation I needed. I finally have somewhere to start and a website to compare processors:beer:Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
