Peak District - Log cabins or.....

We have decided to try to get away at the next Bank Holiday and thought about log cabins/cottage type break in eg Peak District or similar. I've seen lots of web sites but does anyone have experience or recommendations. We've got three kids 10, 9 and 7, (but not Alton Towers this time round!). Thanks in advance as the button has gone.....
Apparently, if you lose one sense, others senses are enhanced. That's why those who have no sense of humour have an enlarged sense of self-importance.
