halifax offer under financial hardship

hi, im new on her but have been looking for a while at the posts....i have 2 financial hardship claims at the moment, one with the rbos and one with halifax, the rbos claim is for approx 2000 and the halifax is 1200, i have received a letter from halifax today stating that i am in financial hardship and they are offering me £350 and 3 months suppression on my account so i basically wont get any charges for 3 months. On one hand i am pleased that they have recognised that i am in financial hardship but on the other hand i am quite disappointed with the offer, im not ungreatful but i have had 1200 of charges since aug last year and i feel that the offer is a bit low, i have just posted a letter off today saying that i am not satisfied with the offer and i have said that i will accept £1000. Give them 7 days to write back and threatened the ombudsman...ive vertually copied the letter on here! I thought that if i put that they may offer me somewhere inbetween!! i dont know if i have done the right thing now!! has anyone been in the same position?
with regards to my rbos account they have sent me a letter which im waiting to receive with a decision, so i will keep you posted...any advice or any past experiences that you can share would be great!
sorry for rambling xx

They are unlikely to increase the offer, unless you can furnish some documentary evidence that any priority debt arrears are a lot greater. Accepting the offer means that you will not forego the remainder. Any balance will be paid on theoutcome of the OFT test case.0
