over a month now and no bill!!!

I am awaiting a revised bill from British Gas because my meter readings have been transverse since march 2008.

They rang to say that the process has not been completed and it will be another month!

Is there anything i can do to get the bill reduced when they finally get their finger out and sort it?!?!?!?!

When you say transverse, do you mean they are negative? I had a series of "estimated" bills (which I paid) for over a year, and when the meter was actually read, the account was in credit.

You can always phone up and give actual meter readings and a bill will usualy arrive within a week or two.

I am on online billing so it's not quite the same as paper billing, but 16 months is a long time to be on estimates.

I think katty means that Day and Night readings are switched.

I take it you don't mean the bill - you mean the monthly payments. Yes, tell them to suspend taking payment until the bill is sorted. Don't take any nonsense from them, don't ask them, tell them and follow up in writing. If they then take money, claim it back under the Direct Debit guarantee.

  • The meter readings were back to front.

They are taking a direct debit each month but i haven't had a bill yet for the readings the right way around so therefore only taking money for what they estimate I will use not any debt. Therefore i do not know how much i am in debt with them.

I just want it sorted so that I know where I am and can budget for the repayment.
