UPVC Door

Ok, so we have an old wooden door with two glass panels, and despite the house only being ten years old and having been reasonably well looked after it is well and truely ready for replacing.
Now the straight forward option would be to replace it like for like but with a slightly better quality door that will last better and maybe has a few "luxuries" like frosted glass and a decent thickness of wood.
But I am wondering what it would cost and involve to get a new upvc door fitted instead. This would I presume be more secure, reduce drafts, heat loss and noise.
We don't have upvc windows but would like them at some point when we can afford it.
Is this going to need a specialist to fit or is it something a competent diyer could manage?
Thanks

Go to B&Q with your measurements of your old door and see what they have in there. My husband fitted out back door .He fitted all new doors inside the house as well ,so knew how to do it .0

It's not rocket science, so a a DIY'er can do it, as long as they are confident enough to measure up properly, order the correct size, and remove the old door leaving a big hole in the side of their house while they work out how to fit the new door!0
