Hi all
I recently wrote to Barclays requesting my charges back under financial hardship. I have a reply today, but im unsure what to make of it?
It says -
"We acknowledge receipt of your complaint about bank charges and your claim for financial difficulty on 18 August 2009.
We are sorry to hear about your financial difficulties. We are currently assessing your claim and you will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible."
It then goes on 2 say..
"With regard to your unauthorised overdraft charges complaint, we believe that your complaint concerns the level, fairness or lawfulness of the charges.
We believe the charges are legal, fair and transparant"
also says -
"Once the legal proceedings between the OFT and the banks finish, we will resolve your complaint as quickly as possible. We are sorry that we have not been able to reply in full to your bank charges complaint now, but we (together with the FSA and the OFT) think that it is necessary to resolve the key legal issue before we decide how we should respond to your complaint."
bla bla bla lol
I really do not understand what this means for me now then? They didnt send me an expenditure form for financial hardship either.
Could anyone help me please?

Thank you in advance xx

Don't panic, you're in the same boat as everyone else. We won't get our money back until after the court ruling in October.
For the moment you're just going to have to go down the financial hardship route. Write again and/or phone them requesting the form.
From looking at other people's posts it looks like they are only paying out the bare minimum they can get away with, however if you really are having difficulties it will be worth pursuing.0 -
Hi mummy2be

If you have excel - complete that form, print it off and send it (the last page - Financial statement ) with a letter detailing your circumstances to Barclays and ask them to look at your complaint under the Financial difficulty exemption of the FSA waiver.
If you want someone to check it over or help you with the letters just yell.
Will get things moving quicker than waiting for them to send you a form.
