Buyer lives where I don't ship too and won't cancel

Hi
I only ship my eBay items to the uk. Mainly for ease and to ensure safe delivery for proof of posting that doesn't cover me outside of the uk.

All my ads say uk only shipping. However someone from Poland has just 2 items. I sent them a cancel transaction request saying I only ship to uk and could we cancel. They have got angry and have declined the cancel request meaning I now have an email from eBay saying I will not be credited fees and I will have to complete the transaction.

What could I do about this???

Had you gone through all the settings making sure they were set to UK only? (rather than just writing it on auction).

If yes, then point this out to ebay. If no, then you'll either have to go through with the transaction, given the buyer a new quote for postage abroad, or take a hit on the fees and risk a negative.

You could try emailing the buyer, and stating that as the auction specified UK only, could they please provide you with a UK address to send the item to.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Yep and make sure you charge them for a signed for option if sending to this buyer now. Potential problems here so take all precautions.

  • That's the problem. The buyer has no feedback, address looks odd and there is a bit of a communication break down

If you don't set your seller preferences to exclude countries you do not ship to anyone can bid on your items and if you refuse to ship to them can open an INR and neg you.

You need to try and speak to the buyer. Why does the address look odd? You could always try typing it in to google earth to see if its residential
  • The address just doesnt seem to make any sense but could be cause its forgien, If I set my postage to post to UK only that shoud be enough, I never realised there was a seperate setting

Communitcation is really difficult now - the buyer isnt making any sense

"I ask it to disagree and again to send the rejection. I will accept and you will dispatch shirts for me"......?????

The settings under Account - Seller preferences. its to restricy those bidding on countries you dont ship to (or some such wording) I always think ebay should make the settings more obvious as quite a few people get caught out.

You could try and use Babel fish to translate? Though not sure how accurate it is
  • Thanks cyberbob, it should be easier, I thought setting UK posting on the listing was enough

If you think the address doesnt look right, have you tried looking the place up on a map? Multimap is best I find. Then if it is wrong you will know.
