Hardly ever, and then when I do I usually look for sale stuff. I can't bring myself to pay full price for clothes...I'm tracking a lot of BNWT stuff on eBay at the moment though. Decided that when I start my new course I need to have a style overhaul.

  • I buy new clothes whenever I see something I like, not brought much the past couple of weeks but usually I get about 1 new item per week. I do feel guilty sometimes but I do love buying new clothes and they are my only vice really!

Me neither!! But I buy new clothes all the time. My favourite shop is TK Maxx - I have trip there at least once (but not always buy something) a month and then when I see something in sales. Also about twice a year we go for trip to Cheshire Oaks (outlet village).

I also have to look into shops when I am somewhere on holiday and try to buy at least 1 thing - the only thing that stops me is if the price is far too high in comparison what I would pay in the UK.

I buy if I see something I like when I'm out an about and can afford to do so without causing lack of money until next pay day.
I never buy full price either (well, rarely), and ebay purchases only happen if I have paypal funds ready and waiting and not needed for anything else.

So, it varies a lot on how often I'd actually buy,
sometimes it'll be a few times a week,
other times it could be a couple of months :o

I buy something when I see it, if I like it. But to be honest there isn't much out there that I like. Just got two suits from Tescos for 30 pounds for both of them so very pleased at that. Not normally bought much at all.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

The last time I bought new clothes was January - a new suit for a funeral, as my old one was about 40 inches too big ;) Got it in the January Burton sale.

i too don't buy much new clothes until and unless necessary - like an event- or a bargain at a sale.
i have a 'wishlist' and a 'needs' list. for 'needs' i have a budget and shop around and at the same time i keep a look out for any sale items. so although i am prepared to pay full price for 'needs' i prefer to wait for sale items.

I HATE shopping for essentials, and love making the odd impulse buy of something special (normally in the sales). So, if left to my own devices, I tend to end up with a wardrobe full of gorgeous once-worn evening dresses and lovely shoes, while spending the 99.9% of my life when I'm not at a posh do roaming the streets in grotty falling to bits T-shirts and cutoff jeans :o

Pet hate is bra shopping - SO expensive for something so indispensable (and no, I don't do cheap bras - I'm a 32G and it isn't an option!) and also, so much hassle given that it's really essential to try before you buy and it's not necessarily that easy to find the right fit/good shape etc. Need to go and blow £100 or so on some new ones as soon as possible - can't wait

I buy clothes quite often - at least once a month and sometimes more at sale times.

I am also the exact same as Bargain Rzl and prefer buying impulse stuff or 'wants' rather than 'needs'. I hate going to the shops trying to find something specific (e.g. a pair of black trousers, a winter coat, a pair of brown boots with a certain size heel, a pair of jeans) as I will never find the right thing. That's why I have unworn dresses and the like in my wardrobe - for weddings, races etc when I know I will be going to these events. If I have to find an outfit for X or Y at the last minute I'll end up with nothing or (worse) buying something awful for (gasp) full price! I pick up some fab stuff in the sales and I never pay full price except in Primark! :rotfl:

I also hate bra shopping! Maybe it's me, but no matter how expensive the bra, they all sag pretty quickly. :(

I like the way I shop - and, as you can see, I like talking about shopping too!

  • Since living in Spain over the past five years I shop less than I used to in the UK. To be honest I prefer the UK high street because I think it offers good value for money, clothes that are easy to wash in the machine and a good range of sizes plus refund policies are much fairer than in Spain which makes me more cautious to spend here. I probably buy a couple of new tops every couple of months but most of my shopping hauls take place when I go crazy when I return to the UK like last week when I had a mini haul in the 70% off Monsoon sale.
