Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could advise me if I am able to change the wooden part of my fireplace? There is also black slate tiles but I don't want to change them. The wood is beech but I want to change it to either pine or oak. Can anyone advise me how to go about this?

cheapest way is to sand it down and use a wood stain in either color of you choice.
