Parking Ticket at a free car park !!

I got a parking ticket when parking at a large retail park with free parking. My father wasn't feeling too well on the morning so I offered to drive. He then forgot his disability badge. I drove round and found staggered parking spaces - it was really easy for my father to open his door fully to get out of the car. When returning to my vehicle I had a parking ticket - very official looking. I got a £60 fine. I had parked in the staff parking area which I wasn't aware of. I had actually parked in front of a sign but it was covered with shrubbery. There were other signs but I thought it meant that I couldn't go beyond a certain point for parking. I appealed the fine explaining my father's predictament and sending a copy of his disability badge and about 2 months later I received a letter stating I had been unsuccessful, giving me 10 days in which to pay or they would up the fine to £80. They sent it 2nd class post on a Thursday, I received it on Saturday - So by the time Monday came along 4 days had elapsed. I have appealed it again and am left waiting. :mad:

Read some of the hundreds of other posts on here. Your situation is exactly the same. Ignore any correspondence you receive from now on.

There is NO appeals procedure - think about it. You have an invoice from a private company, who are in the business of making money. Why would they tell you they don't want yours?

You have not got a fine, you have an invoice from a private parking company which you can ignore, your first mistake was replying to them and trying to appeal, no one ever wins an appeal against these cowboys.

Ignore everything they bombard you with. Just file it away under
