Just set up my XBox tonight (got a premium for £211 a month or so ago but been resisting the temptation to set it up because of exam revision...) and wow!!!

Graphics so much better than my Playstation 2 and online features are great (download game demos, etc.). Will get a Playstation 3 when they come out so I can play my old games, but I am very impressed by the XBox - well worth it I'd say, even at £265.98 (the CCL price inc. delivery). Only 6 left now too - get them quick!

Dalkirst - that top Littlewoods link is for 'XBox with wired controller'. I'm guessing this will be the cheaper Core pack (RRP £209.99) as these come with a wired controller (the Premium pack has a wireless controller). The bottom link looks the same, but with a game 'thrown in'.

It's the Core mate, it has a wired controller. The Premium version has a wireless pad

In GAME at the moment xbox360 premium with 2 games £319
and managers special with 3 games £349 they come with set games but my son bought this friday(3 game pack) and they swapped one of the games for the one he wanted

"The latest issue of the PSM magazine noted that the PlayStation 3 will be launched in the first half on November and the price will sell for about $399 in the U.S., €322 in Europe and ¥45,965 in Japan. The magazine was also writing that the console will be featuring a 60GB hard drive.

However, earlier this month a spokeswoman for Sony mentioned at a press event preceding the E3 game industry trade show that official details regarding pricing and an exact launch date for the PlayStation 3 will not be released before the 8th of May."

I will be waiting until after the 8th may for an official price as this is only guess work at the moment as originally someone at sony suggested the PS3 would be £400+ due to the new technology going into the machine i.e. Blue ray and HD.

It would be good to see a lower price but I won't be holding my breath as the famous line comes to mind "price and release dates are subject to change" and I cannot see the PS3 being out this year as there are going to be no PS3 development kits ready until June 2006 so developers don't have alot of time to create new games. Sony are also copying the Microsoft Xbox live format so they can make the PS3 compete with online gaming

Sony have to do something to attract people to the PS3 as by the time of it's lauch the Xbox 360 will have had a good sales lead and may have grabbed a good deal of the gamers, I will purchase a PS3 if there is good software on it and it's not overly expensive
