Hi,
Basically i have spotted an item that appears to be genuine but at a very low price (clearly because the person is not a clued up ebayer, just listed as ****** handbag - nothing else but some decent pictures. I have emailed the seller a few times to ask a few questions to determine if it is genuine but i have had no reply - i asked a few days ago and then again today - the only prob is it is ending soon, v.soon.
If i win, obviously before i pay i will want the ebayer to answer my questions (main one being authenticity), if they come back after the end and state it is indeed a fake do i still have to pay (i.e, will i get a non-paying-bidder strike)?
Many thanks.

I don't think sellers HAVE to answer a potential buyer's question, although it's obviously in everyone's best interests if they do. I'm guessing you could still get a NPB strike, as you'd have accepted the listing as it is and decided to purchase the item. If I were you, I'd refrain from buying- the fact the seller hasn't responded to your questions seems quite dodgy.0

Yeah i'm thinking they might just be away or something...i'll see how much it goes for and put in a max bid considering the situattion. They have pretty good feedback as it is. If anything and the item turns out fake i'll claim a refund via paypal - surely ebay should come down on them hard espeially as by listing it as a 'xxxxxxx handabag' - (only x'd out incase i get any last minute competition lol) then if it is fake they'll be in trouble (?!?).
Whats tempting me is the fact that i have the same bag and don't particularly want to pay another few hundred for a replacement - and the photos the seller has put on are pretty good. Hm. A risk i might have to take.Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
If they list it as a make of bag and you receive it and its fake you can raise a dispute. You may have to prove its fake but if it is you wont have to return and it will be refunded through Paypal0

Lol, i think a few bidders had the same idea as me. None the less i have won so now i'll just wait for the invoice then ask again if they don't reply - if no response then then i think there is an option to cancel the purchase, We'll see, i'm not a someone who makes people wait for payments unsually, so if they decide to not answer and then NPB me i'll clearly state that in feedback so others will be warned.
Anyway - i'm hoping it'll turn out that they were just away or something and all is fine. I'll keep you posted.Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -

Thank you - thats what i was hoping for, i will know immidiately if it is fake or not as i have my own to match it with. The only thing will be getting it authenticated from someone without having it confiscated (if paypal ask that)...i have no want for a fake but i wouldn't want to lose both bag and money incase paypal want it sent back
Never mind, if i lose out i haven't lost a fortune....the seller will get a big fat neg though! Hopefully all is ok and i'm just being over worried. Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
Just out of interest, what was the item and how much did it go for?0

HI
I would just say that in my experience, sellers who dont respond to buyers questions and are selling a 'designer' item at a low price , are usually selling fakes.
In future, I would not bid untill you get a response from seller.
Just ask to cancel transaction and then at least the seller will get her fees back and you dont get a npb0
