  • Well as its a house exchange we have had our mortgage offer, all our surveys have been completed. So now we are waiting for the other party to have the survey and mortgage offer - Should be no problems. Her solicitors have even sent her the searches/contracts to sign.

Once we have exchanged we will start to pack our stuff etc. Really hoping its going to be soon!!!

We waited about 8 weeks for Abbey to send out the surveyor. Our buyer, who was also with Abbey waited a week longer. However, once the surveyor had been out, we had a written offer within 2 days.
  • Hopefully thats the case, we went with Lloyds TSB through a broker - they were pretty quick and on the ball.
  • Good Luck To You Bennybroadbean ;)

    Keep us posted.

    Waynehayes.

Hopefully we only have to wait 2 days.Fingers crossed .
  • I think your luck worked Rainbow! They called yesterday afternoon and they are doing the survey on Tuesday! :j

Our buyers are also using the Abbey and all the Abey has to do is change the address as they've already had an offer before on another place that fell through. 4 weeks and counting so far and so far no amendment has been made or survey arranged for our place. :(

The survey on the place we're buying was done within 2 days with another lender.
  • It took about 6-8 weeks from our application to the time they visited the property we were buying.
  • Abbey have that many good deals, everyone wants to be with them, therefore it's just a backlog that you're gonna have to wait through

Egg have so far taken 7 weeks to value the property we are buying and still no news of when it will be done ,it has now got to the point where I can not be bothered anymore and may just drop out now .
  • Excellent Bennybraodbean.

Just wondering,do you know if us the seller would be allowed to contact the mortgage advisor to get it done? Obviously with the permission of the buyer.

Thing that is annoying is that they said on Wednesday that it was going to be done this week & it hasnt.

Why are they lying to us?
