First time in debt now with soa

Options
well i have been here ages and this month is the first month i will be offically in debt _pale_ This is the first month in two years (since i have had my credit cards) that i will not be able to pay at least 50% off of each card. I am appalled with myself, now this month will be the first month ever that i have only payed the minimum payments and they will have to be payed using my overdraft (another first) :mad:

I am feeling really upset and angry this month, i dont get payed for another 16 days and i have £3.70 in my purse and thats it :rolleyes: i know the exact reasons why i got to this state, and thats costing me £180 a month :eek: oh well, what i dream to have a steady wage :p

below are my debts as of 29/04/06 and to reducing them asap :rotfl:
cc 1 - 27.9% = £306.94
cc 2 - 29.9% = £175.37
mum - 0% = £146.34

total = £628.65 :eek: (about my monthly wage :eek: )

  • Don't worry posting, you will recover.I never had debts, until a once in a lifetime holiday.you just have to nip it in the bud and you obviously have a very positive attitude to money.Aim to pay it off by the end of the year or something and it will give you something to aim towards...good luck!
  • Hi posting,

    Don't beat yourself up - I know from reading your previous posts that you have an excellent attitude to money - I was sure that it was you who said you only let yourself spend £3 a week - occassionally you are going to need to spend more than that.

    Just keep chipping away and keep posting (as your name says!) - we're all with you!

    Does anyone owe you money? Can you eBay/Amazon anything? Do a car boot? Babysit/dog sit/weed locally? Might make you feel better (or not!)

    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83
  • cc 1 - 27.9% = £306.94
    cc 2 - 29.9% = £175.37

    P.S. I take it you can't balance transfer? Your APRs are scandalous!

  • Exactly my thoughts, get a o% card with free BT and then at least what you pay off will be paying off the debt. Those APR's are HUGE..
    EBay is the holy grail of Auction Sites, use it to clear your unwanted items and generate you some income to spend on whatever you want. Just don't get addicted like me :)

  • thanks all for your replies :)

    mms - i have definatly caught it in time, i am very very good with money usually but one thing after another this month :confused:

    ss - yes i am the £3 a week girl, i was and am still using this method but this month was awful and its only come to ahead now :o sadly i cant bt and really dont want to anyway as then i will be putting off paying it back. I have done ebay and amazon in the past and have made loads :j but i have seem to have sold all that has value, the only thing left is my laptop (i put it on once but it didnt sale) is it worth me putting on again, its three months old :confused:

    am - i doubt i will be ables to get another card :rolleyes: and also i dont want to transfer it because of the reason i said above, thanks anyway

    so today i have done more overtime at work to hopefully pay this off, i want it gone by december (as its a special birthday for me then) so fingers crossed, i am just really annoyed with myself for getting in this state, i am usually very good with money. ah well life is a journey of learning :rotfl:

    *wondering if i should put the amounts in my sig*

    id put all the money i could to pay cc2 first, threaten to cancel it see if they offer you any deals, have you called to see if they could offer you a more competetive rate?

    Why not apply for a A&L account, 400 quid interest free overdraft with that?
    Could pay off one card and then work through
