Problem with OE

Since yesterday in Outlook Express when right clicking on an email, (i.e to delete), or left clicking on the tool bar, none of the options are viewable until I run the mouse over the boxes when they then become visible! To my knowledge I have done nothing to the computer or to OE. How do I get it back to normal so that when I click the mouse on the emails or boxes the boxes are visible?
