Shocker: Praise for NPower!

Now I know this board often is filled with moans and groans about the electricity companies but I just wanted to sing NPowers praise (admittedly after a year of hassle).
I won't go into the details, but after several times ringing the customer services for over a year, they still hadn't billed us (at all). I had given them numerous meter readings, repeated details which I had told them multiple times as well as even taken days off work to stay at home to let in someone who needed to read the meter (in order for a bill to be sent out).
After all this I made a formal complaint in writing, which I was then told to again give the latest meter readings and it would be fixed. Wrong! Another complaint and finally it seemed something was being done. I have now had confirmation a new bill is going to be sent out after a 'data cleanse' on my account had happened and further providing yet more information.
But the best news is that NPower have recognised the amount of time we have spent ringing them, taking time off work and everything over the year, and have decided to wipe our bill clean for the last year which is truely great news and what I felt was deserved.
In fact, they had also sent us a cheque for £25 as we didn't hear from someone by phone about our complaint for two months, so we are actually £25 to the good!
Thank you NPower! :T:j:beer:

Nice to hear some positive remarks about a utility company, most people only post bad reviews and dont bother posting when things go well.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0

Without being too cynical, have you all this in writing?
i.e. they are using the meter reading from what date?
If so - good news and most unusual.0 -
Hi Megalomaniac
I'm really pleased that we have been able to help you out. I am sorry it seems to have taken a while to resolve your initial problem but in our industry we do come across some complex billing/metering complaints and these can take us a while to resolve.
Thanks for your patience
Best wishes

I know... wait till the bill is through the door etc... The meter reading is from the date it all was all sorted and I have the contact details of the person I was dealing with if not.
I think as long as you have the patience (mine was tried several times) and are just treat them as you want to be treated, they will work with you. Obviously, make it known how much time you have spent trying to deal with a problem (assuming it's their fault, not yours).0
